Fixture

I was unfortunately unable to get to the game today but Birchgrove kicked off the long awaited return of League Rugby with the elusive win that had so narrowly eluded them in the recent run of games up to today.

The hard fought 0 - 14 victory at Tondu although so welcome  is however tinged with a degree of disappointment as our newly appointed Captain for this year Josh Key had to leave the field with a bad ankle injury which we understand will require surgery tomorrow and we wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

Despite missing the so influential skipper and at one stage being temporarily reduced to 13 men the story of the game seems to be a magnificent defensive effort , three penalties from the prominent boot of Adam Rowlands and another try grab from lively back rower Rob Green.

Hopefully this will be the kick start for another successful season which continues with the first home game of the Season against Nantyffyllon in two weeks time November 27^th kick off 2.30pm
