Although unable to get to the game at Pyle I understand it was a hard fought affair with neither side prepared to take prisoners ! It seems though the fortitude, determination and resilience of the visiting team has been illustrated once again as Birchgrove sealed the victory in the last 10 minutes or so .
From the updates getting through to me I feared that there may the prospect of losing our unbeaten league record as we were behind at half time 17 -10. Confidence surged though as we fought back to 22 -22 and finished in grand style with two tries to take the Game 22 – 32 with a bonus point.
Tries went to Lee Harris (2), Wes Pretorious, Darren Poland and vice-captain Josh Key. The metronomics of Mr Nick Fisher continue as he finished with 9 points , 3 conversions and a penalty taking his points tally for the season to 65points as leading scorer.
Lee Harris lies second to him with 7 tries and a conversion - 37 points and Josh Key third, 4 tries for 20 points. Long way to go yet though .
Well done lads, still top of the Table and unbeaten in the league one point ahead of Porthcawl who also remain unbeaten.
Next up Abercrave at home next Saturday 21st October kick off 2.30
